「若さ」とは人生のひとときを言うのではない。
それは心の状態を言うのだ。
逞しい意思、優れた想像力、
炎ゆる情熱、怯懦を乗り越える勇猛心
安逸を振り切って冒険に立向かう意欲
こういう心の状態を「若さ」というのだ。
人は信念と共に若く、疑惑と共に老ゆる
人は自信と共に若く、恐怖と共に老ゆる
希望ある限り若く、失望と共に老い朽ちる。
